The Murality team visited our project site in Vancouver’s Chinatown this past Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming Jump for Joy photomural collaboration. Just a recap on the Murality project: the contest to choose a mural artist for the 161 East Pender Street wall closed on July 5, 2014. The winning design is in the process of being selected and will eventually be painted in September 2015. Here is a preview of the mural space below:

In the meantime, local artist Eyoälha Baker will be showcasing her Jump for Joy project though a photomural. We’re excited to see Eyoälha’s vision come to life once she completes her project over the next several weeks. To have an idea of what to expect, Eyoälha has been photographing hundreds of Vancouver residents while in mid-jump. The images are exciting, funny and are meant to inspire positivity. We have no doubt the photomural will be a fun and eye-catching visual for the Chinatown neighbourhood and for passersby. There will be plenty of opportunities to view her photomural as it will be exhibited for one year.
