Brent Grassie, a local artist, finds his source of inspiration through his music. “GrassRoots Art Design embodies all that Brent is as an artist – bold, creative, inspired, unique”. Grassie’s curiosity for creative outlets began early on when he learned to play with brushes and instruments at a very young age and was influenced by his artistic grandfather, Orris Steinburg. Being artistically inclined at the age of 5, Grassie caught his grandfather’s attention through his lines drawn on paper. With a few pointers, Grassie was able to let his artistic abilities flourish throughout his high school years. Many high school students may catch themselves doodling during class time. Grassie was no exception to that as he would doodle detailed skulls, Hokusai-esque waves and colorful roses.
“I really like drawing skulls as they’re so mysterious to me. I often think of the life that once lived atop the skull, and how they ended up in this way. My love for art starts and ends with the story beyond the canvas.”
His musical background collides seamlessly with his artistic abilities and Grassie is regarded as the “go-to” guy for band merch with an artistic twist. GrassRoots Art Design offers an array of artwork ranging from traditional canvas paintings to concert posters to baseball caps to onesies for babies.
